Assad’s Syria Today – Viewer Discretion Is Advised

Attention Russia & China - Your Syrian Friends Are Still Killing Children

Enjoying your day? here is something that could ruin it – for a while (but not if you are Chinese or Russian).

While the former UN president Kofi Anan prepares to leave Syria without getting any results at all news of a newly discovered massacre appear, along with video and photos of about 50 Syrians who were tortured and murdered in the last few days. The obvious suspect is the army, loyal to president Assad, who seems to continue life as usual while what is left of his army goes around and simply destroys anyone who might even be an opposition (including young girls and boys, old women and anything in between).

The brilliant diplomatic statement to respond to the accusations is “it was not us”, which may be true, however it does not seem like any other men with guns were in Homs at the time of the army’s (other) extreme violent actions of the last few weeks, in which those unfortunate 50 bodies are only a fraction of the total murder count.

If you ever asked yourself how could it have been that in the 30s’ Stalin’s soviet union killed millions and no one did a thing, later on to be followed by Nazi Germany and on to our age Rwanda genocide take a good look at what is happening in Syria for months now, and see how no one does a thing.

Here is a video from today – Viewer Discretion is Advised

Sarkozy, Meat and the Next Elections

March 12, 2012 by Leave a Comment

French President Will make Meat an Issue

French president Sarkozy is in trouble, the far right party in France seems to have growing support which means that he could suffer a lose of votes in the next elections, while many French have some sympathy for the far right nationalistic call the chances that they will elect a president who is from the far right is very low. In simple words, if the far right will gain enough power to send its representative to the second round of elections (beating and eliminating Sarkozy in the process) even those who favored the far right will have second thoughts about sending that person to lead the country.

So Sarkozy does what seems to be the most logical thing, and that is everything he can to gain more right wing power and sympathy – which brings us to the issue of meat in schools and the public system. Muslims and Jews stamp their meat as “Kosher” or “Halal” which basically means that they slaughter the animal in a certain way, including a prayer to the almighty while they murder an animal for its flesh. There has been much debate in the West as to the question if this is moral or acceptable in modern times.

Sarkozy seems to think it is not acceptable, and by doing so he will try and ban the use of such meat in schools and public places, whichever way you look at this – if this does happen, it will be a great victory for reason and modernity on religious superstitious customs.

But there is opposition (of course), and this time its a funny thing to note both Jews and Muslims on the same side, and as always the fear is that believers will be introduced to a new, more advanced, way of thinking, something that could ultimately lead them to embrace enlightenment and leave the ancient chains of religion. It would be hypocrisy not to acknowledge the obvious, this whole thing is fueled by dislike to a large immigrant population in France and it is done to try and barricade the country to keep it from growing more Muslim in nature.

However , even if all of these are reasonable causes, you will never hear the French say them out loud, as long as they will be French they will keep their true thoughts to themselves.

Israel Postal Service and Jesus

March 7, 2012 by Leave a Comment

Don't you love it when Religions fight?

The Israeli postal service faced a problem, a missionary group had ordered thousands of copies of the new testimony to be sent to homes in many cities of Israel, a predominantly Jewish state (the only one there is on the face of this green planet). The books had a note attached to them, saying something along the lines of “a great catastrophe is about to happen, save yourself and your family by turning to christ our lord”.

This is just so messed up that no matter how you look at this you can get a good laugh. From the missionary position (that should be the first laugh right here) they are saving lives, helping Jews finally make the move to Christianity and embracing Jesus, the church has been trying to get Jews to turn Christian for 2,000 years now, mostly by burning them up, this time its in the form of rental persuasion.

The Jewish point is that the book by itself is dangerous (it says so in the bible, even suggesting moving to another religion is an offense punishable by death) but the note attached, the officials claim, will scare and terrorize people into reading the book, looking at the pictures and, yes, its all gone by then.

Here we have the classic case of religions fighting each other, with the main basic fear glaring out as if it was a firecracker on a moonless night, to be exposed to the ideas of another religion. The Jewish rabbi’s know that the fact that Christianity (as well as Islam) are so close to the Jewish faith (well, they were all born from the same book) and that both other religions make the basic same assumptions as to how the world was created that it is easy to just change and move on to the next religion in line.

The missionaries have the most difficult case, they are trapped in the never ending quest to get more subscribers, with the fear of eternal suffering they are forever doomed to walk the streets looking for someone to save, even if that someone does not want to be saved.

And the postal service, yes, this story does have a happy end, as it seems some of the Jewish mail men thought it was dangerous to distribute these copies because it was opposed to the Jewish faith, but some others, who are secular, simply thought that it is against any moral value to try and poison the minds of people with lies and fairytale stories, however both sides lose, the mail needs to be distributed, as much as anyone does not like it.

Now all we need to do is to wait for Jews to start sending the Bible to the many homes in the fair state of Utah.

Running a Country in Between Prayers

March 7, 2012 by Leave a Comment

Mamdouh Ismail, an Egyptian member of the parliament had a difficult moment at work recently, he realized that once again the discussions in the house of Egypt’s politics were running late and that he might miss his noon prayer, he decided to call upon all believers to go and pray, because who needs to run a country when god is sitting and waiting for his loyal subjects to once again through themselves at his feet?

Surprisingly this met the anger of other members of the parliament, first for disturbing the issue (the riots of the soccer game of last month, who cost the lives of many people and outraged most of the population of the country) but it was not only for the mere disturbance that the caller faced objections, many thought that this was in fact a challenge to the other members of parliament to go and pray, a mild suggestion by the caller that they are not as religious as he is.

The outrage was caused mainly by this, and not by the fact that these people are in charge of a country which is, for the last year, in a constant state of chaos and civil unrest. It does not look like the Islamic god (or any other god) is trying to help Egypt out of the poor state it is in, and nevertheless some people think it is a good idea to suspend political discussion in prayer to an unresponsive god.

Egypt – the Nose Knows

March 7, 2012 by Leave a Comment

What Next from Egypt?

This is on amusing story about a religious parliament member who was not happy with what god gave his as a nose, decided to go ahead and use modern medicine to change that and in the process had told the Egyptian people such lies that had to be dropped out of the parliament altogether.

Anwar Bilkimy told the press that he was attacked and robbed, that his face suffered blows and was hit but angry men, he had stirred up the sympathy and the anger towards those bands of criminals who recently attack ordinary hard working Egyptians on a daily basis. However the whole story was not true, he had simply had a “nose job” and did not want to say it.

But seriously, why would he avoid saying it, or better yet, why even start this mess? he could have just taken a couple of days off, say that he needs surgery and come back to work without any worries, why did he need to cover that nose job as an attack?

The answer is very simple, its religion. Devoted Islamists strongly believe that changing the way a person looks is an interference with the almighty work of god, it does make some sense, if god gave you that face you are not going to challenge god by changing it. So poor mr. Bilkimy realized he had no choice but to lie, very much like girls in certain parts of the world agree to anal sex just to have their virginity intact.

The lie got out of control, and in the end he is kicked out of his own (religious) party for lying, but to be honest he would have been kicked out just for the nose job if he would have confessed it from the start.
