Is This How a Religious War Looks Like?

September 14, 2012 by Leave a Comment

It ultimately comes to this, we are used (or at least we think) to wars being the consequence of long and troubled diplomatic arguments, or the eruption of pre-existing pressure between countries or communities, the current situation is either one, and is in fact a simple extension of an ever growing sense of hostility between the West and Islam.

The current crisis (that poorly produced 14 minute teaser) had not blown up as soon as it was made public, the film was uploaded to YouTube months ago, it also did not have the same effect through out the Arab Muslim world, it started with Egypt and Libya, only to be slowly followed by other countries. It is not by chance that the two “champions” of protests were Egypt and Libya, those two countries that toppled a regime and quickly formed religious governance.

The players here are moving their blocks now, the repeated attacks of Islam upon the way that Western civilizations manage their citizens liberties have now reached a boiling point, but do not mistake this current demonstrations as just a violent way to simply try and land blows on the US or Europe, it is all done in the name of faith, of defending Islam from non believers, the nationality or continental support of the so called crime (of expressing ones opinion on any matter) has nothing to do with any of that.

Even the news that the actual producer of the film is an Egyptian Copt did not calm down the Cairo protestors, even though this is one of them (well, he is a copt) and not an American infidel, did not make the mob turn to its own streets, amazingly the riots continue – with the same target in mind.

The last statement president Obama made about Egypt is that important one of all, Egypt is not an ally of the U.S. and not considered an enemy, he said, Egypt is walking on that thin line between being a full blown enemy of the West and just being not friendly.

The president probably did not want to say these things, not after he had fully supported the Muslim brotherhood campaign in Egypt, but was left no real choice when twits from the US Cairo embassy met ones of the official brotherhood site, where the english tweets were comforting and peaceful and on the same time the arabic tweets and site content encouraged the riots and glorified the violent demonstrations.

The Ignorance of Middle East Muslims

September 13, 2012 by Leave a Comment

Things are heating up, as they always do following the believers of Islam going wild over one insult or another. The news can been seen as trivial and banal, same old anger over the same old topics, some can see it as intended aggravation of a group of people known for being easily angered over anything to do with their religion, others might see it as yet another attempt to force the West into giving up its core values – “or else”.

This morning some news channels set up a live stream broadcast of “demonstrations” in Cairo, I’m no expert but all I could see were small groups of what seemed to be like young men throwing things at a group of armored vehicles and police. Attacking Egyptian police over a movie produced in the U.S. is as ridicules as attacking an American embassy over that same movie.

The only real excuse for attacking people who are clearly not related in any way to a production of a movie that angers them, Muslims can only say that they do not know (or realize) that people in the West are free to create and produce whatever they want as long as they do not infringe on the rights of other people. If Muslims actually think that the whole of the U.S. with its vast population is under continuous authority scrutiny and that any creative process is a result of permission and not basic liberty than they might have a real argument in going against the US embassy in Cairo.

This exposes these Muslim thugs for what they are, ignorant and without any idea of what real democracy means. Here is a short quotation from yesterday’s news “if your freedom of expression is without limits you must accept our freedom of action”.

A Clear Threat – With No Understanding of Democracy

This sentence alone shows how ignorant these people are. A clear threat is made and it puts two very different things on the different sides of the equation, one the one side freedom of speech and on the other violence and aggression on whatever whim it may be.

Freedom of expression is without limits because it directly follows thought, the idea behind the freedom to speak your mind is that ideas can be let out into the world without fear, this is what makes this current civilization great – the free and fast exchange of ideas, the adoption of some of them and the ridicule of others, but nonetheless free and constant exchange of thoughts which are expressed by speech. To claim that if you “force” freedom of speech (on people in Cairo – from a film produced in California U.S.A. mind you) the other side can literally force physical damage upon the speaker is outrageous and dangerous.

And this is how these people think and how they act. There is no difference between murdering someone who thinks differently to you to that same person expressing his mind about that topic, in the end it all means that same thing, Muslims do not accept the freedom of speech and much worst than that they actively search for things that may insult them in lands far, far away from their own to orchestrate murderous festivals.

US Ambassador to Libya Killed – No One Knows Exactly Why

September 12, 2012 by 3 Comments

It looks like someone in the Muslim/Arab world decided that the US needed reminding of how its religion members react and what they do, however no one is really sure WHY hundreds (or thousands) of angry bloodthirsty Muslim mobs stormed the US Cairo embassy and the Benghazi consulate, to an innocent reader it might seem a strange coincidence that this falls just on the 11th memorial day of September 11th.

There is much more to just the very troubling and tragic news this day, and more will follow as we discover more facts.

Murder without relevant reason; A new trademark?

Egypt’s Last Synagogue Is Out of the Way

Egypt’s last Synagogue – The Writing is on the Wall

This piece of news should not be of any surprise for those who follow the wonders of the (so called) Arab spring and its meaning to non Muslims around the Arab world. It seems that the last working Synagogue of Alexandria was shut down by the authorities for “security reasons”, this authorities should indeed have concerns about personal security of Egyptians at this time, especially towards minorities (like the Christian Copts – who, by the way, used to be a vast majority of this ancient city), but even if Egypt’s true and honest concern is about the security of the Jewish minority at its last standing place of worship it should not be expressed by shutting it down.

Without getting into the basics of a democratic way of life, it should be clear that any self respecting democracy understands that it needs to respects the right and freedoms of minorities living in it, to protect it for the sake of democracy and to preserve the differences between people so that democracy is real. Egypt is far from any of this, with repeated attempts to destroy and annihilate any non Muslim religion within its boarders since the Muslim brotherhood came along it is now wiping out the last traces of a huge Jewish community in this country.

Jews have been a very big part of Egypt, its almost certain that if you dig deep enough into the roots of any respectable Alxandiraian family you will discover that before they turned to Islam they were Christian copts and before that – Jews.

The law that prohibits the reparation and new construction of any religious building (expect a Masque of course) Arab countries protect their rights to diminish non Muslims practicing religion in their country, this is an outrage – but it has been here for a long, long time. The new thing is the totalitarian approach to things, the “security” issues that “force” the authorities to close the Synagogue, if Egypt was really a democracy (which it is not) it would have gone into serious measures to make sure that any minority could celebrate its holidays in peace and safety, but these are obviously not the concerns of the Muslims in Egypt – not towards Jews and not Christians.

Those in power should read more of the world’s history, of the history of the city of Alexandria before it became Muslim and discover how things turn in time, they might develop a deeper understanding of what makes a successful civilization. We should be alarmed at the creation of a totalitarian and vengeful Egypt, one who is trying its best to have only one type of citizen, and if quickly turning into something that is much worst than it used to be before that Arab spring.

Tahrir Square Is Rape Square

July 3, 2012 by Leave a Comment

Natasha Smith did not read about Tahrir Square recent sexual history

Once again the famous square in Cairo has celebration mixed with violent sexual assault that starts as rape and quickly turns into what all its victims see as an attempted murder, only to be saved by few brave souls that realized that the scene will end in bloody death if they do not intervene.

Natasha Smith, a journalism student, found herself being crowd raped by the happy attendants of the celebration of Egypt’s new leader lawful election and its official change into a strict Islamic country with low levels of tolerance of any other ideology or faith. It is of no surprise that this thing happens – once again, in this square with this population, which considers an unmarried single non-muslim as free for all – up to the point that killing her is no big deal, because this had happened before, and now one really starts to wonder just how much of these things actually get out and published, it is very possible that we in the west get only a fraction of the rape and murder by frantic crowds numbers in Egypt or other Muslim countries.

With all the exposure the previous attack on female journalists in Tahrir square and the attack on Egyptian blogger Aliaa Magda el Mahdi in that same square, as well as the Caroline Sinz, a French report attacked at the same place you might expect a student of journalism to be aware of the dangers of such a place and especially in this state of mind, but this journalist decided that she should cover the Egyptian scene and, unfortunately, ended up like a few of her journalist friends.

It is a shame that Egypt can not step out of this darkness into the light, and that instead of marching forward is actually stepping back in time to embrace a fanatical religious identity, all that we can do is observe the deterioration of this society and execute caution when we get closer to it.
