Human Suffering in Syria 2012

August 1, 2012 by Leave a Comment

This video is short, violent and raw, it is probably the best description of what Syria has been reduced to – after months of interior riots and fighting, this is the face of religious tribal war in the Muslim world, it has been going on for centuries and it does not look like it plans to stop now.

Whatever these people have done, to see them marched to death and paraded as the blood crazed mob chants “alla ho akbar” – the pagan cry of believers dedicating a murder to their always blood thirsty god, this is no way for Syrians to rebuild their country, this is no way to step out of Assad’s tyranny into democracy, this is only about the religon tearing apart yet another part of the world.

Lessons Learned From Syria

April 11, 2012 by Leave a Comment

The one year old events in Syria have a grave lesson to teach anyone who loves freedom and thinks that humanity, in its 2012 version, will move in to protect people under oppressive rules. The ongoing slaughter in Syria is a clear indication that to aspire for help, form the west or from any other place on the globe, is false hope.

Kofi Annan had just concluded a visit to Syria, where he thought that the regime promised a cease fire with the rebels, however as soon as he left, and even more so, as soon as this cease fire should have been in effect the fighting only grow stronger. Maybe “fighting” is not the right word here, where combat helicopters are shooting missiles designed to penetrate tanks at unarmed civilians.

It seems that there is no limit to the level of insults Assad’s Syria is capable at hurling at the international community, and even to the Arab league, that obscure body of Arab leaders who sometimes get together to make mostly financial decisions. This time Assad has spat in the face of the UN (but seriously, no one takes offense to that), the mediators from Qatar, and the Arab league.

And as the former UN secretary left the country feeling he had made a difference, the Syrian army pounded cities with a brutal force killing more than 100 people on Tuesday alone. One can only imagine the outrage that would have been sparked worldwide if it was Israel doing the same – only that when it is old Muslim on Muslim violence anything goes, just like it was in good-old Assad’s father day when he massacred the sunni minority in his country.

China and Russia Let Syria Go on Killing

February 4, 2012 by Leave a Comment

"Blood? What Blood?" asks Russia and China - Syria can keep killing

Word just got out, with the undying support of Russia and China the increased blood letting in Syria will go on, even the pathetic hand waving of the UN stale diplomats will not save the people of Syria.

It is almost tragic, that after months of killing and murder the UN finally allows itself to sit and discuss Syria, a day after nothing less than a massacre took place in one of the countries cities, it simply faces a veto call from two member states that seem not to be concerned with human suffering.

This is not the place to discuss the humane ideals of Russia and China, but it is well known and documented that these two seem to not care at all when its their own citizens who are being killed, and it only makes sense that Syrian blood matters even less.

One can only ask himself how would these two react if it was, say, Israel who would have bombarded – with proper army artillery, a Syrian village (or a Palestinian one), and why it is so clear that they would be among the first to cry out about it. Maybe it is not so much the Syrian government that has strong ties with these two governments, but rather the Iranian oil that calls the shots in Moscow and Beijing, and if it is so let us all hope that these two great nations wake to up take command of their decisions soon and not wait for it to be too late.
