Dalai Lama Asks Us Not to Hold Dogma Accountable

September 8, 2011 by Leave a Comment

Apparently there are many different meetings and conferences these days, just hours before the world remembers the September 11th, 2001 attack, that are trying to get as many different religious leaders in them to tell the world what is the hard learned lesson that we all learned on that terrible day – do not hold anyone accountable for what happened, it is not religion that did it, its just people.

OH REALLY? So, if it does say so, explicitly in the Koran that you should kill infidels and unbelievers, and if you are a person who truly (somehow) believes that god has written every word of that book (as read to his illiterate messenger in the desert) would you not think that god has clearly told you that killing infidels is exactly what he needs and wants?

Would you not say that the very spontaneous and joyous celebrations that spread out all around the Muslim world as word of the attacks reflect how clear this is to anyone believing Muslim?, and if it is so wrong, how can it be that since that dark day nearly 10 years ago so many similar attacks happened all over the world?

The Dalai Lama is in one of those things that are probably created by Muslims to try and stick as many other religions with them as they say it not religion. This one is in Canada, and the title of the news story I saw is that the Dalai Lama is asking for everyone to stop correlating religion with the crazy acts of individuals, well that could have been easier if the whole religion is based on turning everyone around you to a believer or a corps.

I say paint all religions, including the one of the Dalai Lama (who is a nice man and all, but still follows a dogma just like any other religion) in its true colors, from plain evil to mad, sadistic and arrogant, religions are exactly what their devote followers do and should be held accountable for each and every action, especially Islam which is trying to use everyone around to decrease its level of guiltiness in the slaughter of thousands of innocent people all around the world in these last 10 years.

It will not matter how many Buddhists, Jewish scholars and Christian pastors Muslim will gather up to say that all of them are not guilty, of course they are not guilty, Islam alone is guilty, and it cant help it – as far as they are concerned it is the express wish of god to have Muslims cut heads of infidels.

Dalai Lama - Buddhism did'nt do it, yeah we know that, Islam did.

The Egypt Israel Issue

August 26, 2011 by Leave a Comment

In the recent weeks there has been mounting tension between Arabs and Israelis, as well as Muslim and Jews, in the south of Israel, along the Israeli-Egypt boarder as well as with the boarder with Gaza (which, in contrast to what many think, is a boarder, meaning no Israelis occupy Gaza and there is a clear physical barrier between Israel and Gaza). The main reason for the tension are terror attacks carried from within the Egyptian territory as well as the continuous bombardment of Israeli cities along its Gaza boarders by a wide range of “opposition organizations” who pretty much do whatever they want in that piece of land called Gaza.

Today (Friday) the Egyptians are planning a million man march against Israel. Egypt was the first to sign a peace treaty with Israel, and got a lot from this act, it got huge American support throughout the years, the second or third strong army in the middle east (based all on US funds) and steady flow of funds from the American congress. Israel gave Egypt the land they lost in wars that they initiated (not to save the Palestinians as they were of no concern before the 1980’s) and Israel kept its boarder clear and clean. Egypt had a couple of fall outs on the boarder, once a boarder guard got “crazy” and shot 7 kids on a bus, another time a solider decided he wanted to kill Jews and attacked a few Israeli cars.

The mounting tension is much more a result in the change of the Egyptian people’s internal politics and the fact that none of the candidates for presidency will defend the peace with Israel, due to religious reasons and nothing else, the Jews are the last thing anyone wants to accept in Egypt today. So a million men march will mostly mark the growing danger to the peace agreement on the Egyptian side of the boarder, and Israel can not do anything about it, not unless they all go to the embrace of Islam, which I doubt will happen anytime soon.

God Loves You (Not You, You!)

May 17, 2011 by Leave a Comment

The idea that you can be special without doing anything special, without any effort or thought, just by being, is one we have to credit religions with. After all it is the Jewish faith that explicitly tells Jewish believers that they are the “chosen people” and that god has a special relationship with them, this has spread more in the last couple of years and being used by religious Jews on non religious ones to try and get them closer to this organized religion. It is not surprising that these religious Jews use things like “you are the son/daughter of god/the king” or “we are the people of the book” to put non religious people to shame, to try and morally oppress people who do not register the faith and to make them think that they should act or be diferent because god has special plans for them.

And this includes everyone, that is the beauty of it, Jewish murderers, rapists, thieves and lie tellers are all included in this pact, it is a categorically choice of god and no one can be excluded from it, if you are Jewish you are a part of the chosen people and you should act like one. What that actually means I have no idea, but rest assure that the behavior that is expected of Jews by Jewish religious leaders changes from one branch of this faith to the other, from Ashkenazim to Sapharadic (Jews from Western Europe and from Africa and Arabia) and from one political party to the other.

Same with Islam, only not as explicit as in the Jewish example, Islam does not tell his believers that they are chosen, or that they have a special relationship from birth with the almighty, mainly because Islam is a religion that is propagated and spread, so telling people that only if they were born Muslim they have this bond with god would not help much – new people will not join for fear of being excluded on this one, so Islam simply tells its followers that they are the best of all people.

It is important to note that Islam does refer to the Jews as the chosen people from time to time (only to be followed by a “kill them all” notion in later episodes) but there is no doubt that Islam – to the Muslim – is much better than being Jewish, because Muslims are told that they are the best people on earth, and that there is no one better.

And once again this is applied on everyone, the killers and the terrorists, the child molesters and the rapists… only that in Islam law you need to adjust your dictionary and learn that a rape (for example) is not really a rape if it one on one, it needs to have a few participants in it, you will also learn that a Muslim is allowed to lie freely in certain situations, and that stealing is really a question of how what and when.

So the Jews are the chosen people, and Muslim are the best of people, god loves them both and somehow you are supposed to make an educated conclusion and join only one of the religions, I am confused. Christians make it much easier, Jesus loves you, he died on the cross for your sins, even though you were born 2,000 after his death, so that shows you how much he loves you, now you only need to walk around with that guilt for the rest of your life.

About Islam

January 19, 2011 by 1 Comment

As you probably saw in the last post I’m starting to add some of Sam Harris’s wisdom to the site. I am personally in debt to Mr. Harris for helping me into the final stage of Atheism and rejection of (mostly) organized religions. One of the videos that focused on Harris thoughts toward Islam starts with him saying something like “no one of us is currently losing sleep over the Amish…”, and to be honest he’s spot on, I absolutely lose sleep over Islam. Now lets be clear about this, some other religions have been, or have the potential to be, as dangerous as Islam, unfortunately its not the only bad boy on the block, however this belief system should worry anyone who is proud and happy of the modern western life as they are, and is enjoying the personal freedom that they so willingly give to any citizen of the western world.

In the next few weeks I will try and bring forward issues that are reflecting the issue with Islam today, and how this very relevant news items should serve as an alarm to anyone who has not yet realized that religion is something that can be used as an excuse to celebrate a peaceful holiday or two but nothing more. Beyond the evident clash with (mostly) the Western world Islam is not a whole group religion as it is also has internal forces who fight each other with the same, if not more, passion and hate.

One last thing, this is an atheist blog, so there is no point or reason to dive into the full issue of Islam in modern times, and this religion is not more objectionable than some others, however it looks like there is a lot of sense into looking how can Islam change our lives today if the radical religious succeed in their current crusade.
