Lessons of September 11th

September 10, 2012 by Leave a Comment

Every year on this day we try and remember what had happened to the world on this day – years ago, and what it actually signifies. For many this day has served as a wake up call to see what religious zealots can do, and as a constant reminder of the fight for domination in the world of religions.

We learned that suicide attackers can be educated, from “good” families, with college degrees and from financially well based backgrounds, we learned that suicide bombers did not necessarily live in an oppressive environment and that they could come from a wide range of nationalities, and most important of all – we learned that in order for them to do what they did they needed to be believers – perfect followers.

This can be applied to all organized religions and not only Islam. The religion that will forever need to explain why on that bloody day President Bush called it “the religion of peace” when it is clearly not even a remote candidate for this title (and will never be), its competition had lost the chance to be named so a long time ago.

We learned that once you believe that god is real and that real men carry his word, everything else simply aligns and you can very easily do the most horrific things in the name of god, or love, or peace.

And most of all we learned that the target of religious terrorists is to strike fear and hit the symbols of the western society, not fight an “honest” face to face war with it.

The one last thing that we learned (not much help from the traditional media sources) is that the attack was planned on a day commemorating the battle of Vienna 1683, sending a message that this was a new battle – in a very old war, that this was a war that started long before the United States was formed, before there was even a faint idea of the Jewish revival movement, before anyone called himself a Palestinian, and that this attacks had nothing to do with 20th century news and history and everything to do with a religious fanatical war.

East Europe Doomed to Repeat It

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it” (George Santayana)

Estonia – Its a Gas

If there is one thing that stands out in todays Eastern Europe is the way that World War II is perceived and treated, while the rest of the world did not do a very good job at learning the difficult lessons of WW2 it seems that the eastern countries of Europe have forgotten all about its bloody past, its victims, its slavery to a totalitarian philosophy that crashed them and murdered their people, and all that remains of that war is the Nazis and the Jews.

A couple of weeks ago we learned of a tasteless advertisement that came from Estonia’s gas company, trying to advertise its services of gas and heating it choose as a preferred location the concentration camp of Auschwitz in Poland. The humor here (in case you missed it) is that gas was used to murder hundreds of thousands of people in that Nazi death facility.

This might seems like a wild guess, but it looks like Estonia would not joke about the mass deportation of its own people by the soviets in the 40s’ and 50s’, however since WW2 is categorically marked as a Nazi-Jewish affair its a subject that is much easier to make mockery of.

The lessons have not been learned. Segregation and racism still rule most societies, and the understanding that it was babies and children, pregnant women and old people who were brutally murdered daily in the Nazi death camps does not sink in, they were of many nationalities and many religious and ethnic groups, spoke many different languages and worshiped different gods – they were not, by far, all Jewish, but they were all human beings.

Yesterday another piece of news came from Estonia, again use of a concentration camp for advertisements (they say), only this time the “ad” is actually a wild parody who is aiming its arrows at the Etonian gas company. It seems that at least a part of the Estonian people finds it repulsive to use places of bloody massacres as a tool to enhance sales and promote services.

The sad thing is that this satirical ad was taken as a serious one, mainly because its easier to believe that Estonians simply joke about World War II then to appreciate inter social Estonian criticism.

Who Built Jerusalem?

September 7, 2012 by 2 Comments

The democrats are nominating a president and in the process of doing that they also decided to touch two issues that are way out of the comfort zone of most old-time liberals. The first subject is somewhat hazy and unclear and states a kind of loose affiliation with god, which is a strange thing because anyone who watched any of the republican convention would tell you that they fiercely claim god in a republican.

The second is the issue of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, it looks like president Obama is ready to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, just before feeding the whole country to the Iranian nukes. So in the history books it will say that Jerusalem was made capital of Israel a couple of weeks before the whole country was wiped off the map, together with large pieces of the middle east.

And now, on a serious note, why would Jerusalem not be the capital of Israel?, the city was built by Jews hundreds of years before even a mere idea of Islam was born, it was source of jealously to the ancient Greek and Roman empires and had had a consistent Jewish presence in it even though the bluntly hostility of many of the foreign rulers of the city.

Just because Islam affiliates itself to any of its targets can not be a reason to not recognize the only major holy Jewish city that is, without any doubt, rooted in its scripture and in its history the far surpasses the Islamic one (actually has proof of ownership dating before Islam was born).

However the US democrats want to get their feet wet just now, it seems only natural to ask why would anyone leap over this mostly Palestinian issue of blocking Jerusalem for the Jewish state, and why do it right now.

If these stones could say who put them there – would make life easier for the US democrats

Beam me down, who cares about internet search…

Google is not my favorit company, but it looks like their graphic team (and developers) and turning to be really cool. Todays doodle in the Google search engine features Star Trek, with several screens and actions that reflect a deep love and familiarity with the subject.

Politics Religion and Sex – What a Great Combo

Hi, Those Jews Are Spreading Homosexuality Dust around us!

It seems that the Iranians never stop producing all type of statements that reveal the inner working of a fanatical religious regime that is obsessed with branding good and wrong, god approved and satan’s work. This time Iran accuses Israeli “zionists” of “spreading” homosexuality around the world.

How wrong can anyone thinking that a sexual orientation can be “spread” and moved from one person to the next can be?, how could you even start to explain the basics of human sexuality to these kind of people. The tendency to label homosexuality as something that is invented, or a disease of some sort that can be cured and passed is not new to the Iranians, they have been busy hanging their own gays for many years now, and always finding the proper reasons for it, for example one will be hard pressed to find that someone was hanged because he was gay, but because he did terrible sexual things (sometimes, they go as far as to say it was done to children), the same tactic is used by the regime on Jews, they are not arrested for being Jewish but for being spies for Israel.

The religious persecution is in this case mixed with the religious ordered hatred of Jews, attached to a non traditional sexual orientation the Iranians condition their supporters to see anyone who is not them as one big bad block of humanity. It is sad and appalling that in this time and age wild fantasy like this could be harbored by people how are simultaneously developing atomic weapons.
