Atheists Step Aside – Its No Longer Your Revolution

February 19, 2011 by Leave a Comment

In a move that does not surprise anyone, Egypt has now shifted into religious mode, with former religious leaders flying back into the country, and there are even signs of some Iranian intervention in the country.

Yesterdays’ news talked about Wael Ghonim being not allowed on stage to talk to the crowds of people who gathered in the al-Taharir square in Cairo. It looks like the Google’s employee is not wanted around Yusuf al-Qaradawi – a religious cleric that came back home to drive the revolution its final 3 feet, to stop at yet another Sharia law country, another Islamic republic to the growing collection.

Now we should hope for yet another revolution of the sane and not religious, those who do not believe that thee is such a thing as a god, and that this god does not ask his blievers to decapitate 12 year old girls for not following the manual, listening to music or having a boyfriend (that’s not at 12, maybe more like 17). Good luck Egypt, it looks like you just replaced one set of problems for another.

Why Atheism II

January 10, 2011 by Leave a Comment

There are many things happening all around the world, all the time.

There is so much more I want to discuss on this blog then I do.

But, I try to focus on atheism, because I believe it is key. Its a key idea, a concept, a lighthouse that could guide us all from darkness to light. Of course those of us who want to maintain a cultural identity that is tied to a religion can do so freely, but without the bounding effect of the establishment and organized religions.

One of the easiest things to do is label someone as a revolutionary, a romantic, an anarchist, and one of the easiest stepping stones on that road is to find out if you can label someone as a non-believer, since you know exactly what to expect of a believer (or actually you know exactly what to expect a believer will present himself as) and you could proceed with great ease to tell anyone who cares to listen that this person is not a bliever and therefore a wildecard. while there is not only no correlation between believing and moral behaviour, the idea that you need to believe in order to be called moral is dangerous.

So, if we peel away this facade of belief, if we stop playing stone age myths and stories to ourselves and our children, we might make things easier on us, we might start to look deeper into profound things like the life in our oceans, why whenever one war is over another one begins – in a different part of the world, why even though politicians change the world stays exactly the same, and why does it have to be that the simple people carry most of the burden in this life.

Atheism is the easiest point to start, adopt a critical way of thinking of things, examine not only religion, reflect on philosophy and science and you will be well on your way to expanding your own personal freedom, and maybe even others. Just do not let anyone call you anything because you do not dance to their flute, or because you allow yourself a non traditional thinking process, fight the flow, fight conservatism, fight ignorance.

Atheism Fights for Logic and Humanity

December 16, 2010 by Leave a Comment

One of the things that makes the argument between those who choose to believe god and those who simply do not believe anything that can not support and provide evidence for its existence become very clear when people ask why atheists fight god. Well, god will need to be there for anyone to fight it in the first place, right?.

Atheism is the sane call for people to wake up from the darkness of the middle ages and accept the fact that there is no god and that organized religion is probably one of the worst things that humankind has come up with. The claims made by those who think they understand the universe perfect creator are absurd and dangerous, and there is simply not enough time for soft and slow process of shifting peoples ideas about religion.

And those who consistently get insulated in the name of god, or rush in the defense of god never really think why they need to help out these incredible force and why this power has not shown itself in the past, say, 400 years. When it is so obvious that god is not there and that even if he she or it were there they do not care much for the human race it is not a good idea to spend time and resources in praising that god that does not appear and that does not punish the evil, its a much better idea to embrace the fact that we are here for ourselves and that we need to help and support each other without the advice of any old book.

Welcome to the Corner

December 14, 2010 by Leave a Comment

Since we did not officialy start up this site, let me welcome you to the atheism corner, a site that will be dedicated to the idea of non beliefe, or rather “tabula rasa” in terms of subscribing to any non scientific ideas to do with the creation of life and everything to do with life, for all time.

Blank slate is how we wish to look upon things, to observe things, fresh and unbiased, and with the clear understanding that it simply can not be that all the religions that currently are represented in the world (as well as those that have lost and perished) can not be true – they simply reject each other and state clearly that there they are exclusively right about everything.

If you are here to fight in the name of your god or belief please do so with respect so we could have a real conversation, if you are here to observe and discover please try and leave a note with your thoughts, it always helps to know people are thinking.

We are here to make a stand for atheism, for simplifying life on earth and for dealing and solving the things that really do need our attention, for happiness and progress, health and science, for better understanding of who we are and how we want to evolve.
